Sue Weinroth. B.S., CPDT-KA

 

            I grew up in a dog loving family and have been surrounded by dogs my entire life.  I developed the training and showing bug when I joined 4H at age 11 with my German Shepherd, Fritz. I have been at it ever since.  I enjoyed learning and working with dogs so much that I went on to receive my degree in Psychology, Learning & Behavior.

            I have always been an animal lover.  When I raised my own children, they too joined 4H.  Over the years our family has raised and shown sheep, goats, chickens, horses, rabbits, and my favorite, dogs. I owned a pet sitting service for over 10 years and have worked in kennels and dog daycare facilities.

            I currently work training both agility classes and puppies. I truly enjoy working with “both ends of the leash.” Dog owners are some fun people! I hold a CPDT-KA certification. (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed) and share my life with four dogs, three cats, a flock of chickens and two spoiled goats.  I spend my spare time training, traveling and competing with my own dogs and volunteering.

            Supporting my local community and youth are important to me.  I have been a Douglas County 4H leader for over 20 years and have coached several State 4H Competition dog agility teams.   I have had the pleasure of working with many 4H youth over the years helping them learn about, train and care for a variety of animals. In addition, I have spent many years as a volunteer dog and livestock superintendent at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo.

 

My Training Philosophy:

I do not use fear or physical coercion to train dogs.   The most effective and rewarding method is to develop a relationship between the owner and their dog.   I strive to help you create a bond and have fun while training a “thinking” dog who happily chooses the correct response.
